Kitty
She was called Kitty. And it really was a pity What happened to this upstairs maid Who always did what she was bade.
She served a family of class This young Jewish lass But the wife did discover That Kitty had a lover.
She had fallen for the master So the wife did cast her From the upstairs to the down It was told all over town
She was demoted to scullery. Oh, the shame of it all But she walked straight and tall In spite of the gossip galore And the rumors there were more and more.
If the truth really be told Kitty ran off with the gold The master did follow with the silver in tow Where they are now, no one will ever know.
