Red, Red Wine
The room was loud Smoke veiled my eyes I pushed through the crowd Between two guys
"I'll have red wine" I said to the bar keep "That will be a dollar nine" "Don't you think that's steep?
Music was playing 'Tiny Bubbles In The Wine' People were swaying Into doubles. How divine
Across the bar was a bearded fellow With hair down to his knees He smiled at me. His teeth were yellow Thought to self, "I bet he has fleas"
I asked for more wine From the bar keeper I was feeling so fine To bad the wine wasn't cheaper
I reached for one more dollar nine Deep down in my purse I had one more glass of red wine Then bar keep shouted, "closing time", real terse
He turned out the light I staggered outside He locked the door tight I asked for a ride
He drove to my door I said, "thank you, I'm fine" Sure wish I had more Of That red, red wine
I crawled into bed And slept like a baby That wine sure was red I'll drink more tomorrow, maybe.
