The Storm Mighty billows rose out of the murky sea Overhead the leaden skies threatened me Trapped was I in my little boat I prayed to God to keep me afloat
All night the angry waves tossed me about As for reaching the shore I had a doubt The skies let loose with a great torrent I was sure it was my death warrant
I was sick with swallowing the salty sea Please save me was my one last plea I awakened face down in the cold, wet sand The mighty billows threw me back on land
My boat was crushed and lay in a heap But I was saved from the briny deep After venting its anger the storm now spent Calmed like a small kitten so very content
I looked around at this forsaken land Of tall trees and smooth, white sand And ocean water of blue green hue Above the sky was an azure blue
Notwithstanding the storm I said aloud To myself and to a passing cloud This place is not so bad I see I am glad it was here God deposited me.
