The Silver Key
Ocean waves lapped against the shore Warm winds blew mist on my hot form I was burned where I had tanned before Grey clouds gathered threatening a storm
Warm winds of before became icy cold And blew strong gusts through my hair The bending trees was a sight to behold Really scared now I began to say a prayer
Save me please I have nowhere to hide I have been good and I don't want to die Please send me a big angel to be my guide I was pleading toward the darkening sky
On the wet sand near my bended knee A shiny, bright, silver key appeared Someone up there has heard my plea Not today I won't die as I had feared
Then a voice spoke in my right ear Look to your left way up on the hill I looked because I heard the voice clear A house stood there as the storm was still
Rushing up to the house and finding the door I put the key in the lock and turned it once It was then that the wind began to roar I ran into the basement cause I'm no dunce
Now all was quiet. The storm had subsided Locking the door, leaving the key under the mat And thankful for being so protected and guided I headed for my house and that was that.
