The Pearly Gates The funeral was lovely. There were flowers galore Up on the alter and even on the floor There were snap dragons, lilies and roses too And even my favorite that flower that's blue
What was it's name? oh yes, Forget Me Not I hope they plant that one at my funeral plot Friends and family filled the church pews All of them crying and singing the blues
They filed by my casket to take a last look After the preacher read from the holy book Off to the grave yard in the big black hearse Now it's all over and the crowd can disperse
I am alone in the cemetery. I wander around Looking at the head stones stuck in the ground Now where do I go? I am lost and alone Then I hear a voice from the highest throne
Hey Chester, up here, enter the beam You'll be lifted instantly, though it will seem I did as I was bid, and low and behold I was in front of pearly gates lined with gold
On the other side a figure stood, a book in his hand While the heavenly choir sang on command He asked me my name and I answered him true Then open the pearly gates lined with gold flew
I stepped inside with a spring in my step Suddenly I was so full of pep I haven't felt this good since I was seven Then I realized I was really in heaven.
