Reminiscing When darkness falls and day is done Another log is laid on the fire When the moon replaces the sun I start to thinking before I retire
Thinking back to early days when I was about age six I was in my clumsy phase And my legs looked like two sticks
It was then my two front teeth weren't there And I lisped when I spoke The time I got gum in my hair And my mom soaked it in egg yoke
Oh, she was mad as mad could be But she never cussed a word While dad swung me over his knee And said words I'd never heard
It was as a teen and in high school I thought I was such a beauty queen And knew for sure that teens rule Could see everyone envious and green
But of coarse I was wrong I was just plain and so was my face To the in crowd I didn't belong And they all put me in my place
When out of school and fully grown And working at a job My wild oats I had sown Oh, I was such a snob
I raised a family just like the rest And spoiled them one and all I was a good mom. Gave it my best That's all of my life that I recall
That's all the reminiscing for tonight I thought it all before I see through the window that it is light And now I close the door Goodnight.
