The Portrait Upon my canvas, blank and white I touch my brush ever so light A spot of peach for the face A little pink to give it grace Green for the eyes and black for the lashes Don't forget white so the eye flashes Red for the lips so curved and full Round out the chin, too stubborn like the bull The hair shall be soft and flowing Make it look like the wind is blowing The hair shall be burnished red Or shall it be brown instead? The breast shall be full and must be correct With two pink nipples standing erect There my painting now is done A character is born, with a face that shines like the sun
